COVID-19, The most spoken about the dreaded virus but what positive changes have this pandemic brought to us. Could it be all doom and gloom? This question\u2019s response is dependent on your individual outlook. To us, it is a time where needed to pause and go back to the drawing board. Property is amongst essential services but, Why was is not treated that way?<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n

This remains a mystery that the one thing needed the most was not amongst the most essential services and was not treated as such. During lockdown property was the most needed commodity, Where would any of us have been without shelter, utilities, and everything that comes with the property.<\/p>\n

So how will this pandemic impact on our choices as property investors, Shouldn\u2019t we be now seeking how to protect our investments and rental income the most? Is it possible that now numbers are not the only important thing but rather how do we ensure that even during any risky moment we never experience the gloom of natural disasters?<\/p>\n

This pandemic may have come when we least expected it but the one thing that we should now be seeking is how do we recover what we have lost and how do we stand together in the property sector to protect our interests as property investors.<\/p>\n

A positive outlook for the future however is that unlike investing only in areas such as Johannesburg and Durban now the focus is to be able to provide a home away from home anywhere in the world with now lower overheads as well. Property investment has now become every other man\u2019s wealth vehicle.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the fundamental changes many of us have experienced in the recent weeks of lockdown has been the shift to remote working. While the necessary technology for remote working has long been available, it has ultimately taken a global pandemic to firmly prompt the shift online.<\/p>\n

This shift has ultimately ensured that we as people are centralized and can reach anyone globally. This pandemic has opened to us a world that is borderless and opportunities that could reach over and beyond what we could imagine. This could however pose a threat to the commercial property market world. The shift could mean that office space could be abandoned. How does this shift though affect the residential market so much yet it has now become the most important commodity.<\/p>\n
